Snapshots of LHENA community events and projects throughout 2021.
At last night's Community Development Committee meeting, representatives from Hennepin County Government presented the Lyndale Ave S four-to-three lane conversion pilot project and answered community questions. See the link to view the 45-minute presentation in its entirety.
Here are a few key takeaways:
-Lyndale Ave S is one of the most dangerous corridors in the county according to a pedestrian crash study.
-Parking will remain on both sides. Transit stops to remain in similar locations. One travel lane in each direction with a center turn lane.
-Re-striping of Lyndale Ave S to begin in June. Re-striped between Franklin Ave and 31st St.
-County will evaluate the pilot project through the remainder of 2022. Winter-spring of 2023 will produce evaluation results and will engage the community for their feedback.
