Solidarity Network
In response to the civil unrest and national guard response following George Floyd’s murder, neighbors and LHENA created the LHENA Solidarity Network, an online server with over 850 neighbor-users that served as a necessary community watch during the uprising. Spearheaded by now-board member Jordan Peacock, a team of volunteers moderated conversations day and night to ensure misinformation was stymied, neighbors felt safe and connected, and mutual aid opportunities were shared. Multiple adjacent neighborhoods joined this network or started their own based on ours.
