Students at Ella Baker School are leading an exciting project to create a more inclusive, accessible playground for everyone in the community.
Supported by Minneapolis Public Schools, they are collaborating with physical therapists, parents of students in special education, community partners, and peers, to help shape a space that reflects diverse needs and visions. The design includes community art, a sensory garden, and environmental education features—drawing on student ideas, community survey input, and inspiration from national models of inclusive play. While funding is limited, every donation will directly support purchasing the new playground equipment that the students have selected in their design process. With your help, we can build a playground that welcomes all children and reflects the creativity and leadership of the Ella Baker students.
