The Minneapolis City Council is considering a street reconstruction project on Hennepin Ave between Douglas Ave and W. Lake St. The Hennepin Ave reconstruction project is currently proposed in the City's Capital Improvement Program for the year 2023.
Public Works is conducting preliminary planning work this year in order to submit an application for federal transportation funding that would help support the project in addition to local funding. Prior to submitting the grant application this summer, Public Works will be seeking community input on the future design of Hennepin Ave. Public Works will hold an informational Open House meeting to introduce the scope of the Hennepin Ave reconstruction project and discuss the purpose of the initial planning work in 2018. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 11th from 6-8pm. The format of this meeting will be an Open House with no formal presentation; please feel free to arrive at any time between the scheduled hours.
