Our fifth LHENA Talk is this Wednesday, October 27th, 7 to 8 p.m. (via Zoom) with Lisa Clemons, the founder and director of A Mother's Love Initiative, a grassroots organization in Minneapolis that is working to reduce gun violence, domestic violence, and build strong families with strong futures. LHENA Talks is a monthly speaker series that takes place on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 7 to 8 p.m. Each talk features a guest speaker and focuses on community issues of interest and is sponsored by a local business. LHENA Talks strives to bring together residents, businesses, and community members alike to foster a space for fruitful discussions while highlighting the amazing work being done in our communities.  If you're looking for a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween, come on down to Mueller Park on Saturday, October 30th from 1 to 3 p.m. for an all ages Halloween Scavenger Hunt! There will be hot cider, Halloween treats, samples from The Rolling Egg, and more! Extra spooky treatment for those wearing costumes. The scavenger hunt is being led by Jen and Marcus, Wedge residents and the parents of an excited six-year-old who helped Wedge neighbors have some spooky fun last year and is looking forward to doing it again! 
At last night's LHENA board meeting, District 4 Parks Board candidates Jono Cowgill (incumbent) and Elizabeth Shaffer made their pitches to voters and answered community questions. If you missed it live, you can view it below.
The LHENA Board of Directors will meet next Wednesday, October 20, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm via Zoom to conduct its monthly business. The public is welcome to attend. This month, the board will be selecting up to three new board members. Additionally, District 4 Parks Board candidates Jono Cowgill (incumbent) and Elizabeth Shaffer will join us to pitch their candidacies and answer questions from the community.
