We will be picking up trash and debris around Lake Bde Maka Ska and Lake of the Isles. Cleanup supplies will be provided, but to help us make this a near zero waste event, we would love for you to bring your own supplies. Please bring the following to cleanup if you have it: a bucket or plastic shopping bags to pick up trash, reusable gloves to avoid using disposable gloves, and reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. All are welcome to this fun neighborhood event. Bring your friends, neighbors, and families! Coastal Cleanup Day Saturday, September 15th 10am-12pm Meet on The Mall adjacent to the Walker Library (2880 Hennepin Ave) About Coastal Cleanup Day: Hundreds of thousands of individuals volunteer on International Coastal Cleanup Day every year. Volunteers around the world pick up trash and debris around lakes, rivers, and beaches. Because all waterways are important (include all our lakes and the Mississippi!), this cleanup will be a great way to get out, have some fun, connect with your neighbors, and make a difference for our waterways. National Night Out is an annual nationwide event for residents to get out in the community, hold block parties and get to know their neighbors. It's a great way to enjoy a Minnesota summer evening surrounded by friends and family. This year's festivities are set for tomorrow, Tuesday, August 7th. There will be a whopping *thirteen* block parties in Lowry Hill East alone! Below is a list. All are free and open to the public, and neighbors are highly encouraged to get out, even for the first time. As with many past National Night Outs, Minneapolis was ranked #1 among all U.S. cities over 250,000 population in 2017! Over 1,500 events were registered.
