At last night's Community Development Committee meeting, representatives from Hennepin County Government presented the Lyndale Ave S four-to-three lane conversion pilot project and answered community questions. See the link to view the 45-minute presentation in its entirety.
Here are a few key takeaways: -Lyndale Ave S is one of the most dangerous corridors in the county according to a pedestrian crash study. -Parking will remain on both sides. Transit stops to remain in similar locations. One travel lane in each direction with a center turn lane. -Re-striping of Lyndale Ave S to begin in June. Re-striped between Franklin Ave and 31st St. -County will evaluate the pilot project through the remainder of 2022. Winter-spring of 2023 will produce evaluation results and will engage the community for their feedback. Join us for the annual Wedge neighborhood spring cleanup! This is an opportunity to beautify our neighborhood, meet your neighbors, and talk trash.
Meet at Mueller Park, 10 A.M. on Saturday, April 23 for coffee and snacks. We'll also have bags and gloves available, though we encourage you to bring your own. We will return to the park at noon for trash drop off and socializing. Pet and kid friendly event! |
